Curtain Call Prettiness...

Hiya!

Welcome to another Curtain Call colour challenge! This week's colours are so soft and pretty:

I had to use Rose Red and Pretty in Pink as we don't have Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette in the UK, but I'm very pleased that both of these colours will be in our new catalogue once the colour renovation has happened! Here is what I managed with the colours:

I used the Greenhouse Garden set to create the flowers then made the butterfly using Shimmer Paint and Rose Red reinker (mixed together and sponged on the stamp then stamped on Pretty in Pink card). The sentiment is from Pocket Silhouettes and was stamped inside the heart frame from Framed with Love and punched out with the Full heart punch. The leaves are punched using the two-step bird punch. The layout is from this week's sketch challenge on SCS - it is a fab sketch that I have now used several times!

Curtain Call Butterfly Wishes...

Hiya!

This week's Curtain Call colours and lovely and sophisticated - check them out:

I don't have Crushed Curry as it's a US in-colour so I substituted Summer Sun - I love these colours together and I was really pleased with how my card worked out!

I used some new mini catalogue goodies - the All a Flutter butterfly stamp, the Framed with Love set and the Night and Day DSP - so gorgeous! I used a sketch from SFYTT a couple of weeks ago - a really great sketch that I'm sure I'll return to again!
The butterfly and label were stamped on Whisper White with Basic Grey then embossed with clear embossing powder - such a lovely effect! The ink stays wet long enough to put embossing powder on it (if you're quick!). I coloured the butterfly in with a Summer Sun marker. I finished things off with quite a few silver brads - love that effect!

Happy Blooms!

Hello again!

Two posts in one day! Must be a record for me lol! I'm feeling very inspired today and have now churned out a number of cards. This one is my FAVE - I love how it turned out!!

I used the colours from the Colour Q challenge this week: Ruby Red, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal (I substituted this for Bermuda Bay as it's a US in-colour). I used the CPS sketch this week, which is FAB!

These colours made me think of a really tropical theme so I pulled out my new Flower Accent a la carte stamp from the mini catalogue and created some bright blooms by pairing it with some Teal flowers from One of a Kind. I added rhinestone brads in the centres and shaped the petals to give a really dimensional effect. The teal flowers were punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch and snipped in between each petal with my paper snips - this makes it possible for them to curl inwards. The leaves are punched from Taken with Teal cardstock using the new Two-Step bird punch. The greeting is from Bella's Bloom and was punched out with the Oval punch. I added filigree flower brads at the end of the Pumpkin Pie panels for extra bling.

Not sure whether I'll be able to part with this one!!

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you come back tomorrow for another Curtain Call colour challenge!

Inspiration Roses

Hiya!

I made this card for today's inspiration challenge over at SCS. I love inspiration challenges as they always lead me to make a card I wouldn't normally come up with - whether it's colours, layout or theme there is lots to be inspired by!

I chose this inspiration piece and used the black and blue background idea as well as the orange/yellow/pink roses. The sketch I used is this week's OCC sketch.

The roses were created by stamping the two-step roses from 'A Rose is a Rose' using Pretty in Pink and Pumpkin Pie, then sponging So Saffron over the top. The leaves are Certainly Celery and Garden Green. The Brilliant Blue squares in the background were stamped with the Friendly background stamp (newly added to my stash!!). The little tag is from the UK's new mini catalogue - and punch and coordinating stamp set with sooo many possibilities! I tied it around the regal rose ribbon with some linen thread.

Mini Catty class...

Hiya!

I thought I'd share with you the projects we made at my latest class - Mini Catty taster. It was lots of fun as my Mum and sister (from Australia) joined in and made the projects too, and they're not into card-making normally but they had fun!

The first card is using the fabulous Sweet Pea DSP together with the All a Flutter butterfly stamp and some yummy new satin ribbons.

The next one uses my favourite set, Vintage Vogue. I tried to keep it simple but there's still quite a lot of stamping involved!

The next project is a sweet little notebook using the 2-step bird punch as well as the Tiny Tags set and coordinating tag punch.

And finally a funky card using the Something Sweet set (I cased this from a card I saw on Jan Tink's blog). The colours are Taken with Teal, Brilliant Blue, Only Orange and Rose Red - cool 'eh??

Hope you like these mini catty goodies! I'm having lots of fun making cards at the moment - oh how I love the Easter holidays!

Curtain Call cop-out!

Hiya!

Ok so I will admit straight away - this week's colours scared me a little!! See what I mean...

The Bold Brights family is one that I've never felt overly comfortable with so these colours pushed me waaay out of my comfort zone! I copped out a little and added a TONNE of white - kinda case-ing Silke's lovely cards (although not being anywhere near as successful!!). Here's what I ended up with:

I combined the colours with this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge - lots of layers to play with! The main image is from Fast & Fun Notes, which I embossed with black embossing powder on watercolour paper then coloured with reinkers and an aquapainter - lots of fun! The butterfly panels were stamped with All a Flutter (from the new mini catty!) with Yoyo Yellow ink. The white background was scored on the diagonal to create a diamond pattern.

Curtain Call Mojo...

Hiya!

This week's colour challenge is such a YUMMY combination - I love, love, LOVE it!!

I combined these colours with this week's Mojo Monday sketch - I loved it cos of all the layers... and I do love my layers!!

I made a whole bunch of my own patterned paper for this card - the Garden Green was stamped with the vine from Vintage Vogue; the Tempting Turqouise was stamped with Dot dot dot (a new little background stamp in the mini catty); the So Saffron piece was stamped with the border from Vintage Vogue and the Kraft circle was stamped with the damask stamp from Framed with Love with Whisper White ink. I love the overall effect!
The bird was created by punching the 2-step bird and covering the body and wing with 2-way glue pen and covering with two different blue glitters from the Cosmos collection in the current catty. It's sooo sparkly in real life!

Window birthday challenge...

Hiya!

I made this card for Taylor's sketch challenge this week.

I used some stamps from Taylored Expressions that I got a while ago but loved as soon as I saw them. I coloured the images with coloured pencils and tied the colour scheme around the Wisteria Basic Grey papers. I added some punched butterflies and buttons and some little pearls to finish things off.
Thanks for stopping by!
