Sweet Pea class

Hiya!

Here are a few cards I made for a class I did recently on the Sweet Pea stamp set, DSP and stitched felt.

It was really simple to put these together as they all revolved around the DSP and coordinating cardstock. The felt pieces are really lovely as they give the cards a touchy-feely effect and they're so simple to apply - I used Crystal Effects to adhere mine to the cards.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Hiya!

Just thought I'd share with you the anniversary card I made for my hubby of NINE years today! Warning: if you don't like mushy stuff avert your eyes now!

I used a mixture of There She Goes and Verve stamps, along with some K&Co papers. I stamped the tree on Kraft cardstock and coloured with copics. I combined the anniversary theme with a Viva la Verve challenge over at SCS - they always help me get started as they give you a sketch and an inspiration picture to go from!

That's all from me today - thanks for stopping by!

Woohoo! Off to Chicago...!

Hiya!

Just a quick post before I head off to CHA in Chicago (my sister and I fly out from London tomorrow morning and we leave for London tonight!). I am beside myself with excitement at all the crafty goodness I will be seeing, making and... oh yes: buying!!

I thought I'd leave you with a quick card and hopefully I will be able to schedule some more throughout the week (including Curtain Call on Sunday). I'll be back next Tuesday with no doubt some great photos to share!

This was made using the Hostess set Garden Dream. I brayered the background using Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Night of Navy. The flowers were stamped on watercolour paper with stazon and watercoloured with Riding Hood Red and Bravo Burgundy. The leaves were stamped with Wild Wasabi and cut out. If you're wondering why some of those colour names sound unfamiliar - they're going to be in our new catty come October in our new colour collections - yay! The bird was stamped with a mix of Summer Sun and More Mustard.

That's all from me folks - I'm off to finish packing then off to London!

Thanks for stopping by!

Curtain Call Oriental Christmas...

Hiya!

I feel like singing that song 'School's out for Summer!' - and indeed it is! Freedom... for 6 weeks at least! I'm hoping to have lots more time to make (and post!) cards over the next while - so let's kick off with this week's Curtain Call colour challenge:

I left this one right until the last minute as I've been crazy-busy all week and my sister is over from Australia and wanted to go shopping on Saturday so I was up late finishing this one! I went with this week's Mojo sketch and combined with the colours it ended up looking a bit oriental...

I actually used a Christmas set for the image and swirl on this one - I just love the Season of Joy set as the images are so versatile! I stamped the poinsettia in Real Red twice and cut out and layered. I also stamped it in Kiwi Kiss and cut out some petals to use as the leaves. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags. I stamped the swirl from Season of Joy onto Tempting Turqouise card for a bit of interest on these little squares. The large circle in the background was cut from Pink Flamingo DSP. I added some Real Red Satin ribbon, some brads from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit and a rhinestone brad in the centre of the flower.

Curtain Call Leaves

Hiya!

Sorry that once again I've been absent between Sundays! I do mean to post something mid-week but life just seems a little crazy at the moment and I never get round to it! Bring on the school holidays - only one week to go hooray! Anyway, I'm glad I'm able to take part each week in the Curtain Call challenges - the colours really get me thinking! Check out this week's colours:

And here's what I came up with:

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch this week - really fab one! I stamped the leaves from Autumn Splendour on Certainly Celery with Wild Wasabi (one of the new colours coming into the UK catty from October). The circular layer behind the leaves was created with Nestabilities. The DSP is from the Cottage Wall pack and I added two ribbons - white satin and Kraft taffeta.

Curtain Call Friends

Hiya!

Welcome to another Curtain Call colour challenge! Check out this week's colours:

So pretty don't you think? I originally wanted to go in a floral direction because of the gorgeous inspiration photo, but as I have just gotten my hands on the ultra-cute Fox & Friends set I used that instead!

I sketched this one out during a boring meeting this week (lol!) - gotta love my diary with note pages! I stamped the animals in Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery then added a bit of shading using a blender pen and ink and then cut them out. The DSP is from the Cottage Wall set (soooo pretty!). The sentiment is from Sweet Birthday and was punched out with the word window punch then trimmed to make into a banner-type shape. I added some Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon and a Very Vanilla button to finish.

Curtain Call Cupcake...

Hiya!

This week's Curtain Call colours are yummy...!

I kept looking at these colours (I have them written in my diary so when I've got a spare moment during the week I can start coming up with ideas!) during this week but nothing jumped out at me as an idea, until I went back to the inspiration photo - these cupcakes are so lovely I just had to make a paper version! So here's what I came up with:

I paper-pieced the cupcake using Barely Banana and Melon Mambo cardstock then added turquoise glitter to the sprinkles. I cut off the candle from the original image and replaced it with a flower from Vintage Vogue. The DSP is from the Kaleidascope pack and I thought it matched these colours really well! Some pearls and some Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon finished this off. The greeting is from the a-la-carte Sweet Birthday stamp in the UK mini catty. I used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch for the layout - love these sketches!
